AH-06 Dacia Inferior

The lower province addressed practical problems of communication, garrisoning, and government in territories distinct from the principal interior command. Roads and crossings linked it to Moesia, while settlements and productive districts supported military and civilian demand. Its equestrian administration reflected a different institutional scale from the main legionary command.

The exact relationship between this province and later Dacia Malvensis is not established simply by the similarity of their southern settings. Administrative succession involved changes in offices, boundaries, and higher command. Its history should therefore retain its own name and period rather than being collapsed automatically into a later province.
