AH-07 Dacia Porolissensis

Porolissensis gave a distinct administrative identity to districts controlling northern and northwestern approaches. Forts, roads, settlements, agriculture, and exchange formed a frontier society with connections to communities beyond the formal boundary. Napoca’s civic role and Porolissum’s military-regional importance were different functions within that network.

The province continued as one of the Three Dacias under later common higher command. Local administration and fiscal responsibilities remained differentiated even where the overall military authority was coordinated. Its survival across reorganizations makes it more than a brief transitional label, but does not prove that its boundaries remained unchanged until Aurelian’s withdrawal.
